Count Down to Christmas

So many obligations to attend to, so many things to do, But that is what Christmas is all about ? Wrong.! Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and Good Will to Men. As I get more seasoned in years I realize the more importance of Family and Friends and how you interact with everyone you come in contact with. I so look forward to each day to be able to enjoy the people I come in contact with and reflect at the end of the day on how my interactions were handled. I am so thankful for my accomplishments in Family and Friends and that is my goal to continue to be a good example for my children and theirs. The World today is so dog eat dog and the people are so rude. We must go back to being generous with a smile and nice greeting and stop the road rage, the nasty attitudes and maybe if your kind and friendly others will turn to who they come in contact with and be pleasant and just a little bit nicer. Enjoy the Season and remember the reason of the season. The Lalos Family.

Tis the Season

Tis the Season to get in gear for the Thanksgiving Bird and family and friends. I get very excited this time of the year to see family and friends and prepare all the good food to sit around the table and laugh and remember all the past holidays and weather conditions, football games from high school tournaments in Ohio on the traditional turkey day against school rivals and the great feast afterwards. My aunt lived in the Garfield school district and we lived in the Kenmore district. And Thanksgiving the same two schools competed for the championship at the Rubber Bowl in the famous Akron Ohio. Now days since all the rubber shops moved production southwest or totally out of the United States most people only remember maybe, the Soap Box Derby championship in August, or maybe the PGA at Firestone Country Club in August and there is always Football Hall of Fame in North Canton, south of Akron or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame north of Akron in Cleveland. The picture is of myself and my older sister Norma, we were clowning around in the drive-way before going to the football game and dinner at Aunt Sarah's in the fall of 1954. Life was so much easier then in comparison to today and the fast pace of hurry, hurry, hurry and push your way to the front no matter who you step on.
